Disney updates content warning for racism in classic films

A content advisory notice for racism in classic Disney films, in place since last year, has been updated with a strengthened message. When played on the Disney+ streaming service, films such as Dumbo, Peter Pan and Jungle Book now flash up with a warning about stereotypes. “This programme includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures,” the warning says, these stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Popular US actor Thomas Jefferson Byrd, shot dead in Atlanta

 Thomas Jefferson Byrd (left) and Spike Lee (right) Thomas Jefferson Byrd, an actor who appeared in several Spike Lee movies, was killed in an apparent homicide early Saturday morning, according to the Atlanta police department, he was 70. Police were dispatched to a residence at 1:45 a.m. Saturday morning after receiving a call about an injured person. Upon arrival, units located a male lying unresponsive at the location. Grady EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased from multiple gunshot wounds to the back. US actor Chadwick Boseman, best known for playing Black Panther in the hit Marvel superhero franchise, has died of cancer, his family say. The 43-year-old died at home in Los Angeles with his family by his side. Britney Spears’ sister is seeking more control over her fortune, in an increasingly tense battle over the singer’s legal guardianship. Jamie Lynn Spears already has some say over her sister’s finances after being named a trustee of her estate in 2018. In a court filing last week, she asked for control of money stored in a trust fund set up for Britney’s children. She has requested the money is moved into accounts for which she is the custodian.
