Turkish goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan has died following Monday’s earthquake in his home country, his club Yeni Malatyaspor has confirmed. More than 5,000 people have lost their lives in Turkey and Syria following the earthquake. “Our goalkeeper, Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, lost his life after being under the collapse of the earthquake. At least six people dead from tornadoes in Alabama

At least six people have been killed by tornadoes in Alabama, according to local officials, who say they are “still searching for bodies”. Over 35 tornadoes were reported by the National Weather Services (NWS) across the southern US on Thursday, putting more than 30 million people at risk. A landslide on a road in the province of Risaralda in western Colombia has killed at least 27 people, the country’s president has announced. Strong earthquake rocks western Turkey near Duzce

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has struck an area of western Turkey near the town of Duzce, about 210km (130 miles) east of Turkey’s largest city Istanbul. At least six people have died while climbing Eurasia’s highest active volcano in eastern Russia’s Kamchatka region, local media report. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has shaken southern Peru, according to the US Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury. The quake struck at around 7.02am local time in the Tirapata region and was centred 8.1 miles (13km) east-southeast of Azangaro.
